Prof. Dr. Rudolf Blankart is professor of Regulatory Affairs at the KPM Center for Public Management at University of Bern. In addition, he is director Promoting Services at sitem-insel AG, the Swiss Institute for Translational and Entrepreneurial Medicine. Prof. Blankart studied industrial engineering at Technische Universität Berlin and graduated as engineer (Diplom-Ingenieur). Later, he worked as management consultant at CTcon GmbH in Düsseldorf. He started his work at his doctoral thesis on rare diseases in 2009 at Helmholtz Zentrum München and finished his degree at Universität Hamburg in 2012. Before he obtained a position as assistant professor of technology and quality management in healthcare at the Hamburg Center for Health Economics (HCHE), he pursued his research as fellow at the Centre for Health Policy at Imperial College in London. Later, he was placed as 2015/16 German Commonwealth Harkness/B. Braun Stiftung Fellow at Brown University School of Public Health, Providence, RI, USA. Besides his profound background in health services research, his research interests include health economic evaluation and regulatory affairs incl. health technology assessment (HTA).
