Biography
Sven Trelle is Director of CTU Bern, the clinical trials unit of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Bern and Inselspital Bern. Originally a physician by training, Sven started to work in patient-oriented clinical research immediately after he finished his medical studies. During the first years, he worked at the coordination center for clinical studies at the hemato-oncology department of the University Hospital Cologne, Germany; at which time he was also a member of the Editorial Base of the Cochrane Hematological Malignancies Group. In 2005 he moved to Switzerland and joined the Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine of the University of Bern. He mainly worked on meta-analysis and methodological research projects. In 2008 he was elected Associate Director of CTU Bern and responsible for the day-to-day management of the unit. Since 2018 he is Director of CTU Bern. Sven obtained a second degree in Medical Statistics from the University Leicester, United Kingdom.
